A recurrent motto that accompanies many international meetings and forums these days is the speed, scale and complexity of change in the world around us. For a development organization like the United Nations Development Programme, this means that today's development challenges, compared to twenty years ago, are more complex and inter-connected. A sense of environmental, economic and social urgency to deal with these challenges is adding to the pressure. “Business as usual” is not enough anymore and bold thinking is required for breakthroughs and true transformation.
