The main goal of the survey was to explore Serbian citizens’ experience with corruption as well as their perception of the level of corruption in Serbia, especially in domain of health and education sectors. The survey gathered nationwide data on public attitudes, and on the scope and incidence of corruption. The survey mirrored previous Benchmarking Surveys for which data was collected in earlier nine rounds.

Upon the request of the Government of Serbia, UNDP allocated $100,000 for emergency coordination. The United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination Team was mobilized by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance and deployed to Serbia within 24-36 hours.

The project included the selection of ten motivated and qualified young journalists, however only 9 made through the whole selection process and took part in the project. Young journalists were empowered to conduct research independently and to create reports about corruption for social and mainstream media.
