Projects and Initiatives

  • Capacity Development Programme for MoD Serbia

    The overall goal of this five-year programme is reduction of explosive risk to communities by the environmentally benign, effective and efficient demilitarization of surplus conventional ammunition and explosives, as well as stockpile management optimisation through re-building and storages

  • Aid for Trade

    The objective of this project is to promote inclusive growth through promoting productive capacities and competitiveness within the agricultural sector in Serbia. The project is funded by UNDP-Russia Trust Fund and it builds upon UNDP experience in development assistance to the countries of Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

  • Strengthening Local Resilience in Serbia: Mitigating the Impact of Migration Crisis

    The Project will build resilience of the municipalities in Serbia by strengthening local institutions and service provision and maintaining community cohesion in the face of the crisis caused by migration.

  • Response to the Effects of Floods in Serbia

    The project will support the relief and recovery efforts caused by the floods in Negotin, Kladovo and Majdanpek municipalities that occurred in September 2014. The immediate need for intervention in the water and sewage sector was identified since it presented life threatening situation relate to risk of dehydration and the dangers associated with infectious and communicable diseases.

  • To bridge the shortage gap of qualified professionals and the large contingent of unemployed graduates, UNDP developed a youth volunteer scheme for capacity enhancement in DRR at the local and national levels.

  • South East Europe Urban Resilience Building Action Network

    The goal of the project is to enable South East European countries to reduce the likelihood of conflict and to lower the risk of natural disasters, including from climate change.

  • UNDP will support the affected municipalities to cope with the crisis by improving the waste management, water supply, wastewater treatment, social and health services. Both domicile population and migrants which might stay in Serbia will directly benefit from the intervention.

  • UNDP implemented, together with the Government Office for Reconstruction and Flood Relief, EUR 1 million – United Arab Emirates funded project: Post Floods House Construction, in Krupanj, Obrenovac and Valjevo. 17 houses in Krupanj, 14 in Obrenovac and 4 in Valjevo.
