UNDP in Serbia is joining the worldwide Social Good Summit 2013 #2030 now. We are participating in a debate about how innovation, technology, new media and new digital tools can pave the way to a better future by 2030.

On Monday, 23 September 2013, 15.00 – 17.30 at UNDP Serbia Office, Main Conference Room Internacionalnih brigada st. 69, Belgrade, we are organizing a Panel Discussion on:

What innovations, ideas, or technologies will lead to long-term solutions to the world’s greatest challenges?

In particular

Youth Sleuths: Social Media and Investigative Journalism in Battle Against Corruption

Young journalists, anticorruption NGOs and journalist associations will offer their views on how publishing through social media can circumvent or complement editorial policies of mainstream media.

In 2013 young journalists published three dozen stories about corruption through social media and involved citizens to report corruption in the health sector through an SMS portal.

What other ways are there and what more can be done to involve a greater number of citizens to investigate and report on corruption and other wrongdoings in social media?
