Faster and more efficient: e-registration of new entrepreneurs in SerbiaDec 28, 2017
Starting from 2018, citizens of Serbia will be able to register as entrepreneurs easier, faster and cheaper. "The new e-registration service enables the whole registration procedure to be done online - from application to receiving the Certificate of registration. From January 1, 2018, entrepreneurs will be able to register their business without arriving at a counter," said Zvonko Obradovic, Director of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) at a press conference held at their premises to mark the launch of the new service.
Software for establishing electronic registration was donated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Steliana Nedera, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, emphasized that the introduction of this measure contributes to the digital transformation of Serbia, identified as a strategic priority of the Government. "Digitization enables faster economic and social development, and ensures good governance and transparency in the work of state bodies and services", stated Nedera. "Working in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the relevant ministries, UNDP also contributes to the achievement of the Global Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular aims at the number eight - creating conditions for inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all", added Nedera.
The goal of digitization, as one of the highest priorities of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, is an economical, efficient and accessible e-government, said Mihailo Jovanovic, director of the Office for IT and e-government.
Electronic registration is cheaper than registration in paper form, because the fee for the electronic registration service is 1.000 dinars, while the registration "in paper" costs 1.500 dinars. In addition to cheaper registration, e-registration saves time and ensures easier access to SBRA services to all the future entrepreneurs, regardless of their location.
