Innovation, Public Policy and Rule of Law
The portfolio on Innovation, Public Policy and Rule of Law responds to the need to re-imagine governance and public policy in order to respond to 21st-century challenges. Most interventions focus on the opportunities created by technology to drive public administration reform, engage citizens and communities, and experiment with new forms of public dialogue. Initiatives include:
- introducing and mainstreaming open data in the Serbian public policy domain
- developing capacities for digital governance and coordination around the use of technology in governance
- support to institutions’ digital agendas on the national and local levels
- advocacy for sound data management practices, as well as
- support to developing digital ecosystems in business and society
Our partners include actors in and outside Government – the Office of the Prime Minister, the Office for IT and e-Government, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-government, the National Academy for Public Administration and a broad plethora of institutions implementing open data standards, as well as a diverse range of non-governmental stakeholders including CSOs, tech communities, and private sector actors.
Rule of law is addressed primarily through a regional perspective, contributing to reconciliation efforts in the Western Balkans. The portfolio provides support to the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor and the Commission for Missing Persons in their national and regional engagements, as well as supporting youth dialogue throughout the region.
The goal of the project is to prepare and support Serbian public administration and the economy for digital transformation
